Author: Denis Silano
Mons. Denis Silano (1977), priest of the Vercelli clergy, studied organ, choir conducting, choral composition, Gergorian chant and musicology. He edited the modern edition of Harmonia super vespertinos psalmos… sex vocibus by O. Colombano (Venice, 1579). He has recorded, as director and editorial curator, for Brilliant Classics (Colombano, 2018; Centorio, 2020) and Elegia (Centorio-Heredia, 2019), all world premieres. Especially interested in ancient music (above all sacred) and the editorial and executive aspects related to it, he has published his own studies and music in Vox Antiqua (Chieti), Rugginenti (Milan) and Edizioni Paoline (Rome). His historical-musicological contributions have appeared in specialized and miscellaneous journals. He is the Chapel Master of the Cathedral of Vercelli and head of the Diocesan School of Sacred Music at the same archdiocese. E-mail: denis.silano01@universitadipavia.it
